I am a reindeer, lai-la-la-lai, A folk dancing reindeer, lai-la-la-lai (November in Helsinki part 2)

The title is the entire lyrics of the humppa song I am a reindeer by Eläkeläiset.

It's Friday evening, so let's dance some Finnish foxtrot:
click

The beginning of the humppa goes something like this:
Yössä kulkee hän
hilpeä on hiprakka
kateissa allakka
solmiossa hieman ketsuppia
noh tuli vähän kallisteltua
kuppia
juurelta puun rannalta joen löydät arvoituksen
sitä pähkäillessä menetät karvoituksen
...

He wanders in the night
his tipsiness is merry
his calendar is lost
some ketchup on the tie
well, he did pour some.
Near a tree by a river you shall find the riddle
whilst thinking of it you'll lose your body hair...

Itsekseen kulkeva kettu pysähtyy hetkeksi. Tänne se haluaa joskus palata.

"whilst thinking of it you'll lose your body hair..."

what would I give not to have to shave each morning?

More lyrics please! I want to sing along, and when else is an old Englander going to get to sing the word miljoonaksi in his life, eh?

Okay BiB, here you are:

...oireita käänteisselkokielisen ja humppa portugalia
meinasi aivan unohtua ekolalia
joko tiedät ketä arvuutella?
Heti jälkeen sotien
hankki palan maata
puuta ja nauloja
tanssilavan rakensi
pelimannit palkkasi
pontikkaa metsässä keitti
juontokeikkaa heitti.
Silti niukkaa oli elämä
kunnes yksi risti kaksi pisti pennit miljoonaksi
nyt joka niemeen notkoon saarelmaan
tahtoo tanssit järjestää
ynnä muuta ohjelmaa.

Juurelta puun rannalta joen löydät arvoituksen
sitä pähkäillessä menetät karvoituksen..

Fantastic. I've just sung along with a cigarette hanging out of my mouth...

I might be asking you for a translation ere long. Anteeksi.

Ok, no probs. It's not a good translation, but...

symptoms of reverse simple language and humppa portugese
I almost forgot echolalia*
Do you know whom to riddle?
Right after the wars
he bought a piece of land
some wood and nails
he built a dancing floor
hired the folksingers
made some moonshine
did some compering.
Still the life was bare
until he one cross two made the pennies turn to millions
now on the every cape, hollow, islet
he wants to organise the dances
and some other happenings.

*It doesn't make much sense in Finnish either
